Museum Of Osteology Skeleton Museum OklahomaOklahoma City, OK (Florida TV) Museum Of Osteology Skeleton Museum located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is a unique educational experience. Focusing on the form and function of the skeletal system, this 7000 square ft. museum displays hundreds of skulls and skeletons from all corners of the world. Exhibits include adaptation, locomotion, classification, and diversity of the vertebrate kingdom. Museum of Osteology celebrates vertebrate life by providing guests with an engaging adventure full of discovery, with the hopes that through education we will help cultivate an appreciation of the natural world and ultimately lead to conservation for the future. Specimens in the collection come from all over the world, with special emphasis on North American bones. From the teeny-tiniest shrew to the 40-foot humpback whale, all sizes are covered! Plus, with more than 800 skeletons, there is something for every interest — birds, whales, animals of every shape and size. There are great ways to experience hands-on learning throughout the Skeleton Museum. The Explorers Corner is an interactive area on the second floor, featuring books and models and puzzles and bones to touch and manipulate. For a fun bonus, check out the video of the founder’s episode on Dirty Jobs playing nearby. You will learn how all this came together. Jay Villemarette’s collection dates back to 1972 when he found a dog skull in the woods. His dad had the unschooling vibe down and encouraged his son’s interest. In 1986, an interest in skeletons became a business called Skulls Unlimited, the parent company of the museum. It would take a minute for the museum dream to come true, but it finally opened its doors in October 2010. Norwegian Encore-Bliss-Joy Race Car Track Go-KartsNCL CRUISE SHIPS (Florida TV) A unique ride on the amazing race track aboard several of Norwegian's ships. This includes Encore, Bliss, and Joy. The Go-Karts are all-electric and operate when the ships are moving and when they are parked in port. There is an extra fee to ride the race cars. Cutting-edge technology and daring new thrills take cruising to a whole new level. Watch the ocean blur by as you zoom around curves suspended 13 feet over the side of the ship on Norwegian Speedway, the largest race track at sea. The two-level track will is 1,125 feet with ten exhilarating turns and four points that extend up to 13 feet over the side of the ship. NCL is going even further with a viewing area located at the middle of the track where guests can provide passing go-karts with an additional turbo boost by tagging them with a laser beam. The race track is open in the evening hours as well The cars are easy to operate; there's a green pedal underneath the right foot for gas, and a red pedal beneath the left foot for the brake. There is a green button on the steering wheel that boosts the car's power (perfect for going up the hill from Deck 19 to 20), and a blue button for reversing (just in case you do crash into one of the tire bumpers that line the track). Helmets are required and everyone is given a clean open-faced ski mask to wear beneath the helmet. Because the race cars are electric, there is little sound from the race track; however, the noise of a speeding race car is piped into the helmet to give drivers the full sense of being on a race track.
Each session is ten laps around and a racetrack "marshal" near the pit stop waves a red flag when your session is over. Stratosphere Hotel Thrill RidesPAY ATTENTION ALONG THE FAMOUS STRIP!Next time you go to Las Vegas, look cautiously from a distance at the tall skinny tower known as the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. If you stare closely, you will truly witness human beings leaping off the top (no joke). Thank goodness they are carefully harnessed in as they free fall back to the Las Vegas strip. It’s one of four carefully developed thrill rides atop the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. Watch all 4 rides as seen on Florida TV ABOUT THE STRATOSPHERE This significant tower stands at a peak of 1,149 feet and holds the record for the tallest freestanding tower in America. The hotel has lots of rooms, a large casino, and four of the scariest rides I have ever been around. Big Shot, Insanity, X-scream, and the Sky Jump. "If you want an experience like no other. Where you can't get anywhere else in this world, we are the place to go," says Kimberly Huff the Director of Attractions at the Stratosphere. 4 DIFFERENT RIDES AT THE TOP Those feeling adventurous and want to conquer the famous 4 have to first purchase tickets at a desk to the side of the casino in the lobby. Your alternatives are to pay for the rides individually if you don’t desire to ride all 4 or to purchase a wristband for limitless rides. Once you’ve bought your tickets, you’ll proceed up an escalator which will deliver you to the main elevators- the same elevators that’ll bring you up over one hundred floors to the very tippy pinnacle of the Stratosphere.
(3) INSANITY Insanity is the next thrill ride you have to try. This massive mechanical arm extends 60 feet over the Stratosphere edge. Rotating at up to three ‘G’s while dangling in the air. Riders are also propelled at an angle. You just pray to god that the manufactures of the thrill ride knew what they were doing when they built Insanity or any of these rides. And I'm confident they were with all the rides here. "You also have the inverted 70 degree angle where your actually are staring straight down to the strip. So it's just you, the strip and the air below." Very cool ride as far as I'm concerned. (4) SKY JUMP Sky Jump maybe the scariest attraction at the top. Before the jump, you will be given a brief instruction and fitted into a jumpsuit. Next, you will be attached to a patented “descender machine." one of the guides will lead you to the side of a small platform where you will discover yourself at the outside aspect of the Stratosphere. I’m advised it is similar to skydiving. "It's a controlled decent. But it is absolutely fast. Your pulling about 45 mph down to the bullseye. It's fantastic. You get a full view. And on top of that, it's on the side of the strip, which is one of the best views up here at the stratosphere tower." I will tell you right now I (traveling weatherman) put on the jumpsuit and went to the edge of the building to decide not to jump. I think the guides were surprised at my decision. It just did not feel right for me as I looked down nearly 900 feet. What can I say? But looking back, if I have another chance I would jump! You can SAVE by booking ahead at the Stratosphere. I KNOW VEGAS
I know a thing or two about thrill rides in Las Vegas. I lived in Las Vegas for three years and even worked as a Weatherman nightly for the ABC station KTNV-TV. I highly recommend the Stratosphere thrill rides. They are some of the best anywhere in the world. Seadog Chicago Tour Combines Architecture & Speed!WHAT TO EXPECTThere’s no other city like it in America. Chicago! Home to some of the tallest buildings in the country. Where old world charm strolls along side of modern day architecture. A powerful river meanders through the heart of downtown. A city planted along one of the largest lakes in America. The perfect place to strap in, and go real real fast. Welcome to Chicago, home to the sea dog extreme. “That’s our turbo jet powered boat. It’s basically like a 70 foot wave runner on the water” says Tom Serbin of Seadog Venture. A wild tour that has people lining up daily, in order to see Chicago like never before. “It’s a roller coaster on water essentially. And what we do you can fit up to a hundred and twenty five people on this boat we fit them. We go about a mile or two out on the lake, see the whole skyline, the birds eye view of the city. And then we do some tricks or turns. It’s an amusement park on lake Michigan.” With everyone strapped in tightly, there’s a quick safety briefing, and talk of what to expect. “We do all sorts of spins and tricks. It’s like a roller coaster on the water. You get wet, you get cooled off. You see the city from Chicago’s lake Michigan. It’s an absolute thrill of a ride, it’s awesome.” A truly thrilling and exhilarating ride. But don’t worry if speed is not your thing. “We have four sea dog boats that we have here and in our compliment of our fleet.” Meaning you can board the yellow sea dog instead, head into the river, for a educational tour of Chicago architecture. Watch Full Story Of Seadog ChicagoARCHITECTURE CRUISE’When we go on the architecture cruise, we go right up the Chicago river. Basically through the downtown center, the heart of Chicago.” says Serbin of Seadog Venture. Before entering the river, you first must go though a lock. Sort of an elevator for boats. “So the lock system controls that water flow. And we have to transit through those locks. It’s the busiest lock in the nation.” Our guide today, a guy named Keegan. A guide that knows a lot about the windy city. We enter the river under lake shore drive. “I find that people love the architecture tour because they get to see the buildings from the water, from the river, looking up at the skyscrapers, they learn about the history of them" says Keegan. ‘This one over here your starboard side, this very glassy one, this is 300 north Lasalle.” You will learn so much about Chicago on the Seadog. For example, did you know that the skyscraper was first invented here in 1885. It was 10 stories tall. Did you know that the great Chicago fire of 1871 was not started by ms. O’leary’s cow? A reporter made up that story. No one is sure how the fire started. Did you know that the tribune tower of 1922, was built from rocks and bricks taken from world landmarks? Including the Taj Mahal, great wall of china and Lincoln’s tomb. “They will learn about certain buildings were built. The type of architecture they are, who the builders were, the reasons behind them and the principal of the buildings themselves.” I love this tour because I’m learning so much today and it’s the perfect ride for children including my son Riley says Kathleen Overchuck of Wildside TV. He loves looking at all the tall and unique buildings. EXTREME SEA DOG RIDE“The great thing about is that we not only get an architecture portion, we also throw in a speed boat ride with that.” Don’t worry, this speed boat ride is smooth with no crazy turns like the sea dog extreme. You can even get great photos of the skyline while cruising. “Oh what I love about the sea dog is you get a variety of different tours that we get to do. So I get to go on the river, I get to see the city from the river and I still get to go fast and have on the lakefront.” So weather it’s spinning on the lakefront, or simply cruising the river learning about architecture, the sea dog has something for everyone. All to enjoy in one of america’s greatest cities. The sea dog fleet runs in Chicago for about 6 months. Until those harsh winter days move into the windy city. It’s a great experience so go check it our for yourself. Written by Randy RauchSwimming With Whale Sharks In Downtown Atlanta!UNLIKLEY PLACE FOR WHALE SHARKSWhile the sun heats up downtown Atlanta on a summer afternoon, down the street sits one of the coolest spots in all of Georgia. A place that has managed to bring together three different oceans under it's rooftop. It's an astounding place. Home to some of the most unique, sort of creepy looking and simply amazing creatures you will ever find underwater. All under one rooftop known as the georgia aquarium. “Six point three million gallons of water. It's like no other place in the world. Usa today just named us one of the top 12 made made attractions on the planet “ says Christopher Duncan senior dive master. Everything at the Georgia Aquarium is big. Over 300 tons of acrylic windows. Some 60 miles of piping. And over a million pounds of sea salt, to make the waters here, seem like the real thing. But for visitors, it's what lives in these waters that keeps them coming back for more. Creatures once thought impossible to be kept in captivity, survive and thrive perfectly here at the Georgia Aquarium. Keeping them in captivity is something I will save for another post and discussion. “They like to hang out on the surface, that is where they are fed." And it's these gentle giants, better known as whale sharks, the largest fish in the world, that seem to grab the most attention. They can grow up to 40 feet long. And while you can view these sharks through acrylic habitats, what if you could visit these giants face to face? You can! DIViNG WITH WHALE SHARKSAnyone can come sign up, pay and dive with whale sharks. There is also a snorkel swim where you don't have to be certified. The group I'm with today prepare for the encounter of a lifetime. They will head into the ocean voyager habitat, and swim side by side with these giants. "On average, we bring many guests through our program daily. They are able to dive and swim in the worlds most largest exhibits." After going over the do's and don't about whale sharks, the group heads to the top of the habitat. This is where they will enter the water. It's a first class experience. All the dive gear is prepared and laid out for them . "We get you in, suit you up, all you have to be is a certified diver. We come and take care of everything. You have your wetsuits, your booties. It's just a matter of zipping up and the group is ready to dive. There's a quick group photo, and the next thing you know, your feet our dangling just above the whale sharks. "We have four whale sharks here. They love to say hello. The cool thing about these animals, they are very much used of people. So they are going to come extremely close." One by one, we enter the worlds largest underwater habitat. We meet down as a group. As I adjust my mask, a giant manta ray swims overhead effortlessly. Something you don't see everyday, even in the wild. I'm amazed at the enormity and shear size of this indoor ocean. It's hold 6 million gallons of water. "You would forget when your down there that your in Atlanta, Georgia." You get to explore all corners of the tank. This is that 100 foot tunnel that visitors gaze through along a conveyor belt. It's a neat perspective while underwater. "Three different oceans for the animals. From the Indian, Pacific and the Atlantic oceans. It's incredible. Some of these animals, divers have never seen in their entire life." Aside from the animals, the dive includes people encounters. Remember that giant viewing window into the habitat? It's kind of fun to put your hands against the glass, and interact with guests on the outside. All while a whale shark swims slowly over your head. It's easy to get distracted down here. There is much to see. But the main reason for the dive for me, is the whale sharks. "We have two females and two males. Are largest female ranging from 26, 27 feet. The biggest one on record is right around 41. So ours are still juveniles." Even though they are juveniles, there size is still amazing. The crystal clear water is also breath taking here. I once dove with whale sharks in the wild, off the coast of Mexico, but the visibility was not like this. 'You can go anywhere in the world. Belize, Honduras, you may see some whale sharks. But your guaranteed to seem them here, Atlanta, Georgia." Our 30 minute dive has come to an end. We head up to the surface. And for our dive master Christopher, he loves to see peoples reactions to this encounter. 'When they come up, and have that smile on their face. And they are like holy cow, that is like the greatest thing I have ever seen. They tell me always, I have the greatest job in the world. And I have to agree with them." FINAL THOUGHTS ABOUT DIVING WITH WHALE SHARKSAs I get out of the water, I have just one thought to share about the dive. "Everyone in america should do this once in their life. It's amazing." This really is an amazing place. Everyone should visit the Georgia Aquarium. You can go to their website for pricing. And while you have to be a certified diver to scuba with the whale sharks. The aquarium also has a swim with the whale sharks encounter where no certification is needed. WRITTEN BY RANDY RAUCHJunk Is King Here At Solomon's Castle!
Watch Solomon's Castle As Seen On CBS WHO IS HOWARD SOLOMON?
WHY FLORIDA?
WHAT IS INSIDE THE CASTLE?The castle is substantial with an eccentric theoretical outline inside. The manor is continually advancing and changing as you will see if you visit more than once. He began with this workshop and developed and out from that point. Following seven years of hard work, the Solomon family could move into their new home. The principal floor of Solomon's Castle is the place the displays are. This region has several models all made out of garbage or as Howard called them, "discovered articles". A portion of these articles incorporates disposed of stray pieces, brew jars, ocean shells, oil drums, sheet metal, and wood. Howard made workmanship from this far-fetched accumulation by utilizing a few abilities including welding, painting, carpentry, wood turning, and an extraordinary comical inclination. For instance, you will see a bike made out of apparatuses, sprockets and utilized auto parts. It's named “Evil Kornevil". Another awesome work of craftsmanship is "Jeb Bushman". It's an elephant produced using a few oil drums with the tusks made out of manatee ribs and toenails made out from mollusk shells. Solomon's Castle has a one of a kind eatery named Boat In The Moat. It is a fun and comfortable place to eat even in the summer Florida heat. It's an imitation of a Spanish ship and it sits in a real canal. FLORIDA TV OPINION
Man Jumps Off Cruise Ship And Survives!Man Jumps off cruise ship and lives to tell. We saw this video possibly several years back. Not sure if it was 2016, 2017 or later. Man must of been a passenger or employee since he was on the ship to begin with. Maybe he's a pro diver or swimmer. Who knows? If anyone knows more about this story, please let me know. Very curious. |
